URIC ACID

While body break down food that contain purines, a chemical called uric acid is created. Purines are found in some foods and drinks. These include:

dried beans

anchovies,

liver,

mackerel,

peas,

beer
Normally, most uric acid dissolves in blood and travels to the kidneys. From there, it passes out in urine. However, if the body produces too much uric acid or does not remove enough human body get sick. A condition with high level of uric acid in the blood is called hyperuricemia.

A uric acid test checks how much uric acid in the blood . Another test also reveals, how much uric acid contains in the blood.

Uric Acid Test

A normal blood test is enough. You should not eat or drink anything for 4 hours before the test unless told otherwise.

Many medicines can interfere with blood test results.

High levels of uric acid can sometimes causegout or kidney disease.

The test is also required you are about to have certain type of chemotherapy. Rapid weight loss, which may occur with such treatments, can increase the amount of uric acid in the blood.

An Abnormal Results Mean
